For The Love Of Food

If you guys have been wondering why I am going so slow with my posts then here is the answer. Zoey and I have taken to exploring new places and new hobbies which eats up most of my time. Though I love what I am doing, I obviously miss my first love- Writing. Today I am ditching everything else to get back to my happy place.
“How did you like Jeddah?” is the most common question friends and relatives back in India ask me. To which I reply, “I love it!” The primary reason being the Food(followed by Shopping). So far we both have visited quite a few good restaurants and in case we are not found hanging out at restaurants and cafes we are sure to be found at the supermarket. It is the love for food that makes us try different cuisines and bond over delectable stuff.
A few months before my wedding, the ladies of my house were on pins and needles worrying about what I would do after marriage because I literally did not know to cook and you know the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. My mum tried her level best to drag me in to the kitchen to teach me the basics but I paid no attention because to be honest I hated cooking. Although I manage to cook for Zoey after marriage I mostly prefer to dine out because the whole experience of dining out with your partner at a good restaurant is exhilarating.
This gastronomical journey that we have embarked upon is now a part of our marriage because Good Food is Good Mood.  We also believe in the wise words of Dorothy Day, “Food for the body is not enough. There must be food for the soul.”

Although I couldn’t click the other cuisines and things we have tried because obviously we were too hungry and couldn’t wait to wolf down what was brought to our dining table. I’ll keep you guys posted from the next destination on our food journey.

Until then Bon appétit!
Forever and ever,
Samreen Ahmed
