Dubai Diary Day 1

For our first anniversary celebrations we were looking for a nice place to unwind and relax and eventually we zero-ed upon Dubai. As soon as we reached Dubai and were on our way to the hotel I could feel the positive vibes flowing in. The city is beautiful and the mighty Burj Khalifa stands tall to extend you a warm welcome to Dubai.

On reaching the hotel we were guided to our room and we left to explore Sheikh Zayed Road (where our hotel was situated) after a quick shower. Sheikh Zayed Road is the city centre of Dubai. High rise hotels, swanky cafes and glistening towers adorn Sheikh Zayed Road.
Next we headed to the Dubai Mall. It is like a dream come true for shoppers. Dubai Mall succeeds in luring non shoppers as well. It is GRAND. The interiors, the attractive display and the huge variety of stores will blow your mind away. Apart from shopping, the Dubai Mall offers you a variety of entertainment including the largest underwater Zoo and Aquarium and the remains of a real dinosaur that is quite impressive to look at.
Zo and I feasted on Laduree breakfast and Pi Dubai pizza, bruschetta and ravioli for lunch. After a long day of strolling we snacked upon Ben’s Cookies πŸ™‚ Yummyy!
By evening we were all set for the experience of a lifetime- At The Top, Burj Khalifa.
The high speed lift carries you to the 124th floor observation desk in 60 seconds. To make this experience all the more exciting they provide intense sound effects only to leave you mesmerised. The view from The Top is beyond beautiful.
The main attraction of Dubai Mall in the evening is the famous Dancing Fountain. The light show and the entertaining moves of the fountain are a treat to the eyes (The show takes place every half an hour from 4 pm onwards). We stayed back for another show because we wanted to enjoy it one more time. Honestly you can never have enough of it. It is so dreamy!
After a Persian dinner at the food court we retired for the day.

Stay tuned for our Day 2 adventure story in Dubai…

Forever and ever,
Samreen Ahmed
